Take Advantage of Summer Streets
Car-free Days in August |
|
Don't miss
Summer
Streets this August - a new
City program that will temporarily open a 6.9-mile
car-free route. The pilot program will give
pedestrians and bicyclists access to Park and Fourth
Avenues, Lafayette and Centre Streets from 7:00 AM
to 1:00 PM on three Saturdays this August (9th, 16th and
23rd). Major crosstown streets will remain open for
vehicles that need to cross the route. Local streets
will also remain accessible to residents with vehicles
and for
deliveries. |
| USP Uses ComNET To Track Progress
In District |
|
The Union Square
Partnership has partnered with the Fund for the City of
New York on a new initiative to improve service
delivery in our neighborhood. The Fund's Computerized
Neighborhood Environment Tracking system (ComNET) is
a program that lends easily operated hand-held computers
to community organizations so that problematic street
level conditions, such as trip hazards, graffiti and
missing lights, can be recorded and tabulated quickly,
easily and accurately. Once recorded, USP will use the
information to baseline and track these conditions with
our Clean Team and maintenance vendors, as well as to
more effectively advocate for assistance from agencies.
Stay tuned for ComNET updates in future e-newsletters.
