Marketing Initiatives
The Partnership’s first ever Visitor Map and Guide was released in 2008 and includes a comprehensive listing of street-level businesses. During 2008-2009, a total of 100,000 maps were distributed at metropolitan hotels, at NYC & Company visitor centers, and throughout the Union Square district.
The Partnership has placed branded street lamp banners throughout the district to increase awareness of the organization and its programs, and to highlight the businesses and companies who are vested in our neighborhood. Corporate sponsors have prominent logo placement on the banners. The Partnership’s current inventory is over 100 street lamp posts from 1st Avenue to 6th Avenue along both sides of street as well as the area in and around Union Square Park.
The Partnership also has a number of greening and beautification sponsorship opportunities, such as contributing funds for new park furniture, plantings, art installations, and solar trash compactors. BigBelly is a patented compacting trash receptacle that is currently being used by USP. BigBelly uses solar power for 100% of its energy needs.

Harvest in the Square is Manhattan's premier food and wine tasting celebration where over 1,250 guests enjoy unlimited tastings and wine pairings from over 50 of the Union Square district’s best restaurants. Proceeds from the event fund the Partnership’s numerous park improvement projects.
