Where to Enjoy Public Seating Areas in Union Square Park
The Union Square Partnership provides public bistro seating from April - October for the neighborhood to enjoy. Hold a morning meeting outside, enjoy your lunch from your favorite #USQEats spot, or bring a book from Barnes & Noble or Strand Bookstore to read. Find a seat in the sun, or find shade under our teal umbrellas. The seating areas are managed daily by the Union Square Partnership Clean Team.
Broadway Pedestrian Plaza
On Broadway between 17th Street and 18th Street, enjoy a corridor of tables and chairs lined by planters filled with #USQBlooms. Plus, located in the center, get a charge at our solar-powered phone charging station.
two West Side Seating Areas
Enter the park on the 16th Street Transverse and you'll find the West Side Seating Area tucked away beneath beautiful park trees. Here is one of the quieter seating areas to enjoy, with chirping birds as the soundtrack. We’ve also added an identical seating area closer to the 15th Street Transverse this summer.
16th Street Transverse
Directly across from the Abraham Lincoln Statue you'll find seating with a view of the main lawn, Evelyn's Playground and plenty of #USQBlooms.
An inlet on the West Plaza, closest to 15th Street, you'll find the James Fountain seating area. Enjoy a view of the Greenmarket on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays.
Finally, you’ll find abundant seating available at the north end of the center lawn. This spot is the best for big groups and shade.
