Union Square Whole Foods Slashes Prices
Whole Foods wasted no time slashing prices as a result of the merger with Amazon, which was completed this morning. Upon walking into the Union Square Whole Foods, you may not notice anything drastically different besides a new sign over the doorway announcing the merger. Downstairs, you’ll find a table selling an Amazon Echo and signs hanging above select items with substantial price reductions. The effort is to make natural, organic food “affordable for everyone,” the company announced in a statement last Friday. Discounted produce include bananas, large brown eggs, salmon, tilapia, kale, baby lettuce, ground beef, almond butter, Fuji Apples, rotisserie chicken, butter, and more.
