New Recycling Rules for Businesses Take Effect
The NYC Department of Sanitation is now enforcing new laws for commercial waste.
New rules established in 2016 regarding recycling for City businesses are now fully enforced by the Department of Sanitation (DSNY). As of August 1, 2017, all NYC businesses are required to recycle metal, glass bottles and jars, rigid plastics, beverage cartons, and paper and cardboard.
Read the new guidelines and develop a plan to comply with the designated set of waste collection procedures. For example, if textiles, yard or plant waste, or organics comprise 10% of your waste in any month, you must set out and recycle those materials separately.
