FRUITFUL GREENMARKET STROLLS
Happen Here

At New York City’s largest Greenmarket, farmers sell what they grow, raise, catch, and bake locally. Operated year-round by GrowNYC every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, you can stroll between over 140 stalls on Union Square Park’s north + west plazas to find just-picked fruits and vegetables, heritage meats and award-winning farmstead cheeses, artisan breads, jams, pickles, a profusion of cut flowers and plants, wine, ciders, maple syrup and more.

Shop In-Season Produce

Find out what’s in season from local farms and shop the newest market goodies like summer fruits, fresh herbs, and leafy greens. Use GrowNYC’s Sustainable Table Seasonal Food Guide to find out what’s available for the spring and summer months. Plus, view an updated list of producers, updated daily at 8 AM by greenmarket staff.

Find Fresh Florals

Nothing screams spring and summer more than fresh florals and beautiful bouquets! Farmers and gardeners bring fresh-cut flowers daily for you to pick and create your own bouquet, or choose from gorgeous dried floral arrangements and wreaths (local tip: the dried floral wall makes a great back drop for a photo-op!).

Try Specialty Artisan Goods

The Union Square Greenmarket is known for specialty goods and provisions from local artisans, bakers, and makers! Try world-famous Martin’s Handmade Pretzels, browse local spirits and ciders from upstate distilleries, find special gifts like alpaca wool socks, and choose from a plethora of fresh-baked treats and goodies.

BRING YOUR Compost

Live green in Union Square! Bring food scraps to compost with the Lower East Side Ecology Center every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 AM - 5 PM.
