Bright Nights Out in Union Square
When the sun goes down, Union Square lights up. From January 16 to February 17, the neighborhood invites you to slow down, look around, and enjoy the energy of the city after dark.
Begin with a walk through the park to experience a one-of-a-kind light and sound installation, then stay awhile. Warm up over dinner, meet friends for drinks, catch a show, or browse local shops. With special offers available throughout the neighborhood, it is easy to turn a quick visit into a full evening out.
Experience the Art: Patterned Behavior
Patterned Behavior is an interactive light and sound installation by MASARY Studios that transforms the Union Square Park Pavilion and North Plaza each evening. Using sensors, the artwork responds to the movement of people passing through, turning footsteps and gestures into shifting patterns of light and sound.
Every visit is different, shaped by the energy of the crowd and the rhythm of the city. It is a simple walk through the park, reimagined as a shared, immersive experience.
