New year, new you! If you’re kicking off 2026 with a fresh set of resolutions, Union Square has everything you need to stay motivated and inspired. From fitness and wellness to food, community, and new experiences, our neighborhood is the perfect place to turn your goals into daily habits.
Get Active
If getting active is at the top of your list, Union Square offers an incredible range of fitness options to keep you moving all year long. Paragon Run Club brings together runners from all backgrounds for supportive, energizing group runs that make staying consistent easier than ever. IM=X reimagines Pilates and functional fitness with programs designed to support overall wellness and meet you wherever you are in your journey. And for those who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, F45 delivers innovative, high-intensity workouts in a group setting, offering functional exercises tailored to every level so you can challenge yourself, build strength, and have fun while doing it.
Eat Healthy at the Greenmarket
Eating healthier doesn’t have to be complicated—especially with the Union Square Greenmarket right in the neighborhood! As one of the city’s most renowned markets, it offers an unbeatable selection of fresh, locally grown, and organic produce from dedicated farmers and vendors. From super greens to seasonal fruits and vegetables, you’ll find ingredients that make nourishing meals feel exciting and accessible. Be sure to check out the market’s chef demos and special events, where notable culinary talents share tips, techniques, and recipe inspiration to help you bring new flavors into your kitchen.
Volunteer
Volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways to connect with the Union Square community, and we’re continually inspired by the generosity of our neighbors. From local businesses to students, our dedicated volunteers help support projects like the annual 14th Street Busway mural and our seasonal park plantings. If you’re interested in getting involved this year, email info@unionsquarenyc.org to stay informed about upcoming opportunities and sign-up dates.
The Union Square Greenmarket also offers opportunities to give back to the community. Each market day, volunteers partner with City Harvest for “food rescue,” collecting excess unsold produce to help feed New Yorkers in need. For more information, reach out to volunteer@grownyc.org.
Try Something New
Trying something new is one of the best ways to spark creativity and discover a fresh passion, and Union Square is full of opportunities to do just that. Beads of Paradise offers hands-on jewelry-making classes where you can design your own pieces and learn the fundamentals behind the craft. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to dance, Fred Astaire Dance Studios is the perfect place to start—meet a welcoming community, pick up new steps, and build confidence on the dance floor. For aspiring mixologists, Rosa Mexicano and Raines Law Room & Dear Irving host engaging cocktail classes that teach expert techniques, offer light bites, and send you home with impressive new recipes to share. And for floral lovers, Ariston Flowers’ bouquet-making workshops let you create beautifully arranged blooms ideal for gifting or enjoying at home. No matter your interest, exploring something new in 2026 is easy in Union Square.
